Insurance Coverage Available to ALA Chapters

For many years now, ALA has provided chapters with general liability insurance and professional liability insurance at no cost. Fidelity Bond Insurance (Crime) is also available for purchase by chapters in good standing. Summaries of the coverage currently offered can be found in the Volunteer Handbook beginning on page 26.

We are excited to announce that, through our partnership with Marsh, we have expanded coverage options during the upcoming renewal cycle to include:

Computer Crime (included in expanded coverage)
Includes coverage for direct loss of, or direct lost from damage to, money, securities and other property caused by computer fraud as well as restoration expenses, or replacement of damaged or destroyed computer programs or electronic data caused by computer violation.

Funds Transfer Fraud (included in expanded coverage)
Includes coverage for direct loss of money and securities contained in the insured’s transfer account caused by fund transfer fraud.

Social Engineering Fraud (included in expanded coverage)
Includes coverage for direct loss from transferring, paying or delivering money as a result of the intentional misleading of the insured by a person purporting to be a vendor, client, employee or other authorized person through the use of a communication.

The webinar took place on Wednesday, June 28. The slides are now available.
