    ALA’s Vaccination Policy for 2022 In-Person Events

ALA’s first priority in all meetings and events decisions is the safety and welfare of our attendees, exhibitors, partners, speakers and team members. In order to enable in-person events to take place with lower risk to participants, effective January 1, ALA is requiring proof of COVID-19 vaccination for admittance to all ALA in-person meetings and events.

You will be required to show either:

    • Proof of COVID-19 vaccination
      OR
    • A negative COVID-19 test taken within 48 hours of arrival on-site

Vaccination proof or test results must contain your name and be accompanied by a matching piece of government-issued ID.

This policy is based on guidance and recommendations issued by the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and other public health authorities. The COVID-19 vaccines given emergency use authorization by the Food and Drug Administration and the vaccines that the FDA has fully approved have been determined to be critical in reducing the community prevalence of COVID-19.

Beginning with ALA’s Association Leadership Institute on March 11–12 and extending to all in-person meetings and events afterward, anyone attending ALA meetings or events will be required to provide proof of vaccination or negative test on-site before entering the meeting venue. Any attendee unwilling or unable to comply with the above requirements will not be granted access to the event, nor will any refunds or expense reimbursements be issued.

We will continue to closely monitor public health guidance in addition to local, state and federal laws and will provide further information as needed.
