Our Mission

The Foundation of the Association of Legal Administrators is the charitable affiliate of ALA. Through our various initiatives, we support efforts both within the Association and throughout our communities to improve the credibility and visibility of legal management. The Foundation’s mission and goals focus on the development of education programs and increasing awareness of the value of legal management professionals, always with an eye toward students as the future of our profession.

The Foundation has invested over a quarter million dollars in grants, programs and sponsorships aligned with our mission and goals.


Our Initiatives

The Foundation has three primary initiatives that support our mission:

  1. Susan French Emerging Leader Fellowship Program
  2. Student Scholarship and Visibility 
  3. David Brezina Memorial Session at ALA’s Annual Conference & Expo

Why Support the Foundation?

As a 501(c)3 charitable organization, the Foundation relies on donors like you to support (and fund) our initiatives. All donations to the Foundation go directly to fulfilling the mission to improve credibility and increase the visibility of the legal management profession. Donations in any amount are encouraged from ALA members, chapters and business partners and are fully tax deductible as permitted by law. All donations received between September 25-29 will be counted as part of this campaign, but of course, we accept donations year-round.
