Business Partner Relations Guide

The ALA Business Partner Relations Project Team (BPPRT) developed the information in this section for all members, but it is directed to chapter business partner relations chairs. These resources are designed to help chapters that are new to business partner relations get started, as well as generate new ideas for are more seasoned in this area.

The Committee's Mission for these resources was to provide:Chapter Business

  • A perspective of, and an emphasis on, the value of good relationships with business partners among individual ALA members, their employers and the Association;
  • Templates and success stories from programs that have been used successfully by others;
  • A storehouse of ideas about everything from business partner fairs to business partner recognition;
  • The assistance of the Business Partner Relations Project Team to members, chapters, regions and ALA.

Business Partners

There are many ways to get the most out of your chapter’s business partner program, including some invaluable “Do’s & Don’ts” that will enhance your member’s experience at live events. The following video showcases a few tips and tricks that can be employed to build the relationships between members and business partners.  Chapter leaders are encouraged to share the video with members during their regular meetings, via social media and on chapter websites.
