Business Partner Relations Guide

The ALA Business Partner Relations Committee (BPRC) developed the information in this section for all members, but it is directed to chapter business partner relations chairs. The hope is these resources will serve as a way for chapters new to business partner relations to get started, and for those that have been at it for several years to garner new ideas.

The Committee's Mission for these resources was to provide:Chapter Business

  • A perspective of, and an emphasis on, the value of good relationships with business partners among individual ALA members, their employers and the Association;
  • Templates and success stories from programs that have been used successfully by others;
  • A storehouse of ideas about everything from vendor fairs to vendor recognition; and
  • The assistance of the Business Partner Relations Committee to members, chapters, regions and ALA.

If you have questions or need assistance, we encourage you to contact any Committee member, using the current BPRC roster, the BPRC listserve or Tell Us What You Think.

Elevate Your Members’ Relationships with
Business Partners

There are many ways to get the most out of your Chapter’s business partner program, including some invaluable “Do’s & Don’ts” that will enhance your member’s experience at live events. The following video showcases a few tips and tricks that can be employed to build the relationships between members and business partners.  Chapter leaders are encouraged to share the video with members during their regular meetings, via social media and on Chapter websites. ALA thanks VIP Business Partner VIBE for developing this resource.
