ALA’s Essentials of Chapter Leadership


ALA's Essentials of Chapter Leadership is a three-day virtual training event intended to provide incoming chapter leaders with basic instruction on chapter management, as well as information on the importance of adhering to essential financial and legal responsibilities. 

Essentials of Chapter Leadership took place Wednesday, March 30, through Friday, April 1, with daily sessions at 10 a.m., 2 p.m. and 3:15 p.m. Central.

The cost to participate in this virtual event was $499 per chapter. This registration fee grants unlimited access to all members of your chapter interested in attending. Participating chapters were provided with a unique promo code and registration link to distribute among their members so that they may register themselves for no additional cost. 

Individual registration was required to receive access information for the event. Individual attendees from your chapter must register themselves by 5 p.m. Central on March 24. Individuals who do not register themselves by the deadline will be unable to access the platform.

Note: Funding assistance were available for chapters that need it. The ALA Board of Directors will consider funding applications based on financial need. The deadline to request funding is February 25. Decisions will be communicated by March 7.
