Whether you currently hold a volunteer role within your chapter or are considering one, look no further than our Chapter Leadership Institute, what we fondly refer to as CLI.
This annual summer event takes place in mid-July. It brings together current and new chapter officers, individuals interested in becoming a chapter officer, and members of ALA’s Board of Directors and Chapter Connections Committee for three days of networking and collaborating.

The call for presentations for the 2026 Chapter Leadership Institute is currently open. Popular presentations cover member recruitment, engagement, education and leadership. Share your best practices and successes by submitting a presentation proposal for the event. We would love to have you!
