Where Volunteers Come Together to Learn
Whether you currently hold a volunteer role within your chapter or are considering one, look no further than our Chapter Leadership Institute, what we fondly refer to as CLI.
This annual summer event takes place in mid-July. It brings together current and new chapter officers, individuals interested in becoming a chapter officer, and members of ALA’s Board of Directors and Chapter Connections Committee for three days of networking and collaborating.

We are excited to gather for the 2027 Chapter Leadership Institute (CLI) in San Antonio, Texas! Volunteers and aspiring leaders from ALA chapters will come together to learn, network and engage with members of ALA’s Board of Directors and Chapter Connections Committee. Don’t miss this opportunity to grow and strengthen your chapter's leadership team--and have some fun, too!
Funding assistance is also available to chapters that are interested in attending the event but need assistance to do so. Chapters can apply for funding assistance once registration is open. We would love to have all our chapters come together for this event! Any questions please reach out to chapters@alanet.org.
