Chapter Leadership Institute (CLI)


CLI is going virtual this summer!

Chapters are encouraged to have one or more chapter leaders attend CLI.  Attendees find value in the sessions offered each year. Participants include:

  • Chapter President-Elects
  • New chapter officers
  • Current chapter officers who have not previously attended CLI
  • Individuals interested in becoming a chapter officer

Funding Assistance

ALA’s Chapter Leadership Institute is an orientation, training and networking event for chapter officers and volunteer leaders. The ALA Board of Directors understands that each chapter’s financial situation is different, and has set aside funds to support those chapters who need assistance with the cost. The Board will consider one funding application per chapter based on the financial need. Applications are currently being reviewed by members of the Board of Directors. Decisions will be communicated soon.

Note: Only applications for the chapter’s primary representative will be considered. As in prior years, all secondary chapter representatives should be funded by the chapter.
