ALA was founded in 1971 by Bradford W. Hildebrandt, Robert I. Weil and Mary Ann Altman to provide support to professionals involved in the management of law firms, corporate legal departments and government legal agencies.
Today, at nearly 9,000 strong, ALA members continue to lead their legal organizations in the business of law.
