Frequently Asked Questions

Q: What health and safety measures have been put in place for this event?
A: All Chapter Leadership Institute (CLI) participants will be required to provide proof of full vaccination against COVID-19 prior to entry. Proof of a negative COVID-19 viral test administered by a healthcare professional no more than 48 hours prior to entry will also be accepted in lieu of vaccination proof.

Vaccination proof or test results must contain your name and be accompanied by a matching government-issued ID. Learn more about acceptable forms of proof.

This policy is based on guidance and recommendations issued by the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and other public health authorities. The COVID-19 vaccines given full approval or emergency use authorization by the Food and Drug Administration have been determined to be critical in reducing the community prevalence of COVID-19.

Attendees will also be required to conduct a COVID-19 self-screening at the conference and agree to forgo attendance if they answer “Yes” to any of the following at the conference:

  • Are you experiencing any COVID-19 symptoms now, or have you within the last 10 days?
  • Have you provided care to or had close contact with any person with or suspected of having COVID-19 within the last 10 days?
  • Have you had a positive COVID-19 test for active virus within the last 10 days?
  • Have you been advised by any health authority, government agency or regulation, within the last 10 days, to self-isolate due to possible exposure to COVID-19?

Any attendee unwilling to comply with the above requirements will not be granted access to the event, nor will any refunds or expense reimbursements be issued.

We will continue to closely monitor public health guidance in addition to local, state and federal laws and will provide further information as needed.

Q: I need to cancel my registration. What is the refund policy?
A: All cancellations must be made in writing and submitted via email to [email protected]. A cancellation fee of $125 will apply to all cancellations received on or before Thursday, July 7. Registration fees will be forfeited for cancellations occurring after this date.

Cancellation notifications via social media (e.g., posting on our Facebook page or Twitter) are not accepted.

Q: Will any of the sessions be recorded or live streamed?
A: CLI is an event that is highly subsidized by ALA and the event sponsors. As such, we are not able to provide session recordings or any hybrid/virtual component due to the high costs associated with those services.

As a reminder, CLI is just one of the many forums in which ALA provides its chapter leaders with training and networking opportunities. All chapter leaders are invited to attend the monthly virtual sessions offered as part of the Chapter Leader Educational Series at no charge. Additionally, every chapter leader is encouraged to subscribe to the Chapter Leaders Discussion Group in the Online Community where they can network and share ideas with other chapter leaders.

Q: Will session handouts be available?
A: Yes, handouts will be made available via the website and mobile app, though some handouts may not be provided until after the event.
