Association of Legal Administrators Releases January 2016 Issue of Legal Management

  • Aug 10

CHICAGO, ILLINOIS — The Association of Legal Administrators published the latest issue of Legal Management on January 8. The first issue of 2016 delves into some challenging human resources management issues, including:

  • Staying connected to former employees to boost business
  • Training employees to spot the signs of workplace violence
  • Keeping toxic employees from bringing down employee morale

New in Legal Management magazine for 2016 is “Innovations,” a column that offers up fresh ideas to managing. This month’s defines what a fractional Chief Information Officer is and whether hiring one makes sense at your firm.

In his “Big Ideas” column, ALA Executive Director Oliver Yandle, CAE, writes about the importance of community within ALA, noting how ALA’s recently launched Online Communities can help members stay connected. “[Community] provides us with a sense of belonging, helps us to learn and grow, and provides a network of support and resources. Our interests, motivation, health and happiness are all inextricably tied to the feeling that we belong to a larger group, sharing common interests and aspirations,” writes Yandle.

Interactive versions of Legal Management are available for iPad and a custom-designed website provides complete access to all issues at www.legalmanagement.org. While each version differs slightly when it comes to functionality, our underlying goals for each format include accessibility, engagement and an intuitive, yet enhanced reading experience.
