International Relations Committee (IRC)

Description: The role of the IRC is to make connections with international legal management professionals and organizations to learn their needs and realities and to position ALA globally as the leader of information in the business of law. The IRC helps ALA promote the importance of legal management to the future of law firms, corporations and government organizations world-wide. The IRC advises the Board of Directors and represents ALA's interests in matters related to international initiatives, cooperation and affiliations. The committee meets monthly by conference call, and in-person at the Annual Conference.

Committee Size: 7-9

Term: 3 years

Appointments per year: Varies

In-Person Meetings / Expectations: One in-person meeting per year (Annual Conference). Monthly conference calls.

Eligibility: Preference for those who live or work outside the United States and/or have knowledge about international matters and customs, possibly through personal experience or employment in a multi-national organization.

Call for volunteers: Fall
