Clean the World’s Hygiene Kit Program gives ALA attendees and exhibitors the opportunity to support shelters, missions and disaster relief efforts; to create a focus on community.
Begun in 2009, Clean the World has distributed more than 2,000,000 hygiene kits, more than 46,000,000 bars of soap to 127 countries that has helped contribute to a 35 percent decrease in hygiene-related deaths in children under five.
Clean the World is a social enterprise executing their mission to protect the environment and save millions of lives by leading a global hygiene revolution to distribute recycled soap and products to children and families suffering around the world. They also eliminate needless waste from landfills and incineration plants, which contaminate our air and water supplies.
For every $21 you donate ALA will be able us to purchase four kits to distribute to individuals in need. Onsite in Grapevine, in the Exhibit Hall, attendees and exhibitors will work together to assemble the kits purchased. When you register for Conference, you will see an option to purchase four kits for $21, or you may donate an amount of your choice to assist with our endeavors.
We built 800 kits in 2018 — we are challenged this year to put together 1,200 kits!
Attendees and exhibitors will work together to assemble the hygiene kits during the Welcome Reception in the Exhibit Hall on Sunday, April 14 from 5:00 - 7:00 p.m.. We will assemble the purchased kits to be sent to a country in need.
Together we can:
