New Online Testing for CLM

home test

Beginning in May 2021, ALA will be offering live, online proctored testing for the Certified Legal Manager (CLM)® candidates through Pearson VUE’s online delivery system, OnVUE. This offering is in addition to test-center delivery.

The CLM examination will be deliverable from almost any location via OnVUE; however, there are very specific requirements that a candidate’s workstation, room, and computer must meet before and during testing. A live proctor will monitor candidates through the webcam on their computers to provide a secure exam experience.

Before selecting online proctoring as your preferred test delivery method, you should take the following steps:

  • Watch the short video, OnVUE Online Proctoring: What to Expect for Your Online Exam, to see how convenient it is to test from home or work.
  • Review the detailed policies and procedures, ID requirements, exam rules, and FAQs.
  • Run the system test and exam simulation to ensure that your computer and operating system are compatible with the OnVUE requirements.

Once you’ve reviewed this information and decided OnVUE is right for you, visit ALA's site to apply to take the exam. Sign into your Pearson VUE account to schedule a time to take the exam via OnVUE, from your home or office. Scheduling for test-center delivery is now open!

If you have already scheduled an in-person appointment for the May 2021 exam but wish to test via OnVUE, you must first cancel your existing appointment, and then, reschedule by selecting the option to test online from your home or office.
