Welcome
Welcome and Thanks
The purpose of this section of the Web site is to share the importance of vendor
relations to ALA members. The site provides ways that you can enhance working relationships and
communication with ALA members by building and participating in various Association programs.
In addition, you'll find information on how to participate in business opportunities with
ALA. You will also see vendor partnering success stories from a range of Chapters, which may give
you ideas to discuss with the local, regional and international ALA members. Finally, it is meant to
help business partners learn and transition information among the members of their companies.
WHAT YOU DO HELPS LAW FIRMS AROUND THE WORLD SUCCEED
Dear Legal Industry Business Partner:
The Association of Legal Administrators realizes the critical role you play in helping
administrators and their lawyers deliver quality legal service. With that in mind, ALA
wants to ensure you receive the support you need from the Association when working
with law firm business professionals.
ALA's Vendor Relations Committee has developed this section of the Web site as
one way to help you get the most return on your investment in the legal community.
Here you'll find advice, success stories and insight from the real decision-makers in the
legal market: firm administrators and executive directors. Read the Tips For Building
Relationships for suggestions on working with ALA chapters to build business networks.
Learn how best to get your foot in the door - and develop mutually beneficial
professional relationships.
ALA created the Vendor Relations Committee to analyze the organization's relationships
and partnerships with companies that see the legal community as their market. The
Committee’s Mission is to add value to the relationship between ALA members and business partners
as follows:
- Facilitate communication among vendors, ALA, its regions and chapters.
- Provide resources for member and vendor feedback.
- Consult with ALA regional and chapter vendor committees to determine equitable value.
- Provide strategic input to the ALA Board of Directors regarding the vendor market.
ALA has also formed a Vendor Relations Committee Advisory Panel. The Panel consists of
representatives from six legal vendor organizations. Participants on this Panel were selected
through an application process and serve two-year terms.
I hope you find this resource useful. I’d appreciate hearing your feedback about the
site. Please let me or the
Committee
know how you
feel about your relationship with the
Association of Legal Administrators, its members, and their firms. We all share the same goal:
Building a stronger legal industry through our business partnerships.
