Managing the "Crowd" - Four Generations in the Law Firm

December 12, 2007

2-4 pm Eastern   1-3 pm Central   Noon-2 pm Mountain   11 am-1 pm Pacific

Valuing our generational differences adds enormous potential to organizations - and some headaches. Now that we are all together, what does it mean? Different values, beliefs and attitudes based on when we were born, plus the cohort events in the world at that time, shape us. What steps can you take, and processes can you create that will help employees understand each other and function as a collegial and effective team. At the end of this program, you should be able to:

  • Understand how our own history shapes our attitudes
  • Identify and distinguish each generation's work styles and reward systems
  • Create strategies for connecting with each generation to build effective teams in the firm
  • Describe different kinds of communications that resonate better with particular generations
  • Design procedures to resolve some of the issues across generations
  • Assess the mix of multiple generations on client service
  • Decide how to implement change to accommodate and foster staff and attorneys

This Webinar qualifies towards 2 hours of Interpersonal Relations Skills for those seeking to fulfill the initial CLM application general requirements, and towards CLM Recertification in the category of Communications and General Management.
