Preparing your firm’s budget every year can be a daunting task. In this session, the presenter will review the reasons budgets are important and will provide participants with the knowledge and tools necessary to prepare better budgets. By the end of the session, participants should be able to:
Identify methods to prepare both revenue and expense budgets
- Recognize which areas of their budgets require the most attention
Those who attend this session will receive working Excel®' spreadsheets that can be used as templates to prepare their own firm budgets. This session is designed for small- to medium-sized firm administrators.

Richard J. Nigon, CLM, is the Chief Financial Officer of Robins Kaplan Miller
& Ciresi, LLP in Minneapolis, MN. Dick has been an ALA Member for 18 years and is an ALA Past President.
Sarah K. Taylor is the Director of Finance for Maslon Edelman Borman & Brand LLP in Minneapolis. She has more than 28 years of experience in law firm financial management at two medium-sized firms in Minnesota.
