Help Associates Hit the Ground Running: Create an Orientation Program that Fits Your Firm

August 15, 2007

2-4 pm Eastern   1-3 pm Central   Noon-2 pm Mountain   11 am-1 pm Pacific

Help your new lawyers reach their full potential and the firm achieve its strategic business goals by getting associates off to the right start. Legal administrators are more involved in associate orientation than ever before. These new lawyers need to understand how their law firm is structured, how the economics of a law practice works and their firm’s expectations. Of course, there’s the ever-important need to balance life as well as a job. The stakes are high so keeping good lawyers makes good business sense — in firms of all sizes. Participants to this session will learn to:

  • Identify the key orientation components to orient associates to the law firm.
  • Create elements that fit the needs and culture of their firms.
  • Use a technique for getting partners to buy in and get involved
  • Write a basic orientation outline upon which to build a strong orientation program for a firm of any size.
