Important developments occur in employment law every year. This timely session will explore a wide range of employment matters to bring you up-to-date on current issues. Learn about some of the more challenging employment issues facing law firm professionals today, including immigration, wage and hour issues, the challenges of an aging workforce, mental disabilities in the workplace, leave issues (including the Family and Medical Leave Act and the Uniformed Services Employment and Reemployment Rights Act), technology in the workplace, employee privacy issues and steps to avoid being the defendant in a class action lawsuit. After this session participants should be able to:

  • Identify the new employment issues that could impact their firms
  • Construct a plan for monitoring their workforce in relation to employment law issues
  • Explain to partners and staff the importance of staying up-to-date on employment laws
