ALA annually sponsors its Chapter Awards program (members only access), which encourages chapters to participate in the Achievements in Diversity component. This is an additional way in which ALA's overall goal can be achieved and it assists legal administrators develop greater understanding, tolerance and enjoyment of diversity in all its forms.

Participation in the 2010 Achievements in Diversity award program doubled from 2009 with 10 chapters participating.
