Our goal is to increase diversity in the Association,
in the legal management community and in all legal service organizations.
As a result, we launched the ALA Diversity Initiative - designed to increase awareness of and
sensitivity to the differences among our workforce and to advance the concepts of inclusiveness and
acceptance. To meet these goals ALA has created leadership panels, educational venues and programs.

 Chapter Awards
ALA annually sponsors its Chapter Awards program (members only access), which encourages chapters to participate in the
Achievements in Diversity component. This is an additional way in which ALA's overall goal can be achieved and it assists legal administrators develop greater understanding, tolerance and
enjoyment of diversity in all its forms.
