Closing General Session
"A FIGHTER PILOT'S SECRET TO BUSINESS SUCCESS"
Washington State Convention & Trade Center
Seattle, Washington
Thursday, May 8, 2008
Thursday morning’s Closing General Session wrapped up a dynamic week of education
and networking for nearly 1,700 legal administrator attendees in Seattle. In this high-energy
session, Top Gun fighter pilots “Boots” and “Vixen” of the group Afterburner explained to
fascinated audience members how they operate in combat environments and how
administrators can apply those lessons in running their law firms. The key message was team
cohesion: how to get your team aligned behind your goals and ready to take action. Rare
cockpit footage and state-of-the-art computer graphics helped to create an unforgettable
experience to conclude ALA's 37th Annual Educational Conference and Exposition
in Seattle.
Immediately following Afterburner’s presentation, members of ALA’s 2009 Conference
Committee got attendees out of their seats for a spirited “Second Line” dance to commemorate
next year’s Annual Conference – to be held May 18-21, 2009, in New Orleans, Louisiana. Planning
for the next Conference is already well under way, so “Get Jazzed” for another extraordinary ALA
event in the Crescent City!
