First-time attendees of ALA's Annual Educational Conference and Exposition gathered at the Washington State Convention & Trade Center on a sunny Sunday afternoon to meet the Association’s volunteer leadership and learn how to make the most of the coming week’s Conference events in Seattle. Featured speakers included 2007-2008 ALA President Patricia L. "Patti" Groff, CLM; 2008 Conference Chair Steven D. Wingert, CLM; and ALA Executive Director John Michalik. ALA's volunteer leaders delivered a humorous skit to engage the rapt audience, offering a variety of “tips and tricks” to having an extraordinary ALA Conference experience. Several lucky attendees also won drawings for gifts from ALA’s Regional Officers.
