Quest Award

ALA's "Quest Award" recognizes a new member who is involved in a number of Association activities. The award recipient demonstrates traits from a successful quest and from the Association’s Performance Objectives for Members. There were 924 eligible candidates this year and 22 finalists. The 2008 Quest Award recipient was announced at the Chapter Awards Reception held in conjunction with the Annual Conference in Seattle, Washington, on May 5, 2008.

Above & Beyond Campaign Winners
Above & Beyond with ALA & Robert Half Legal Membership Campaign

Throughout 2007, chapters had the opportunity to participate in the "Above and Beyond with ALA and Robert Half Legal" recruitment campaign. To qualify for the prize drawing, chapters needed to exceed – or go "above and beyond" – their ALA-established recruitment goal and submit sample promotional materials used during their campaigns. Certificates of Achievement were mailed earlier in the year to the 42 chapters that exceeded their recruitment goals.

Thanks to the generous support of the campaign's Premier Sponsor, the following chapters won their choice of a Phoenix weekend getaway package for two or funding for speaker fees—each package with a value up to $2,600 ($5,200 total):
