March 12, 2009 (Lincolnshire, Ill.) — The Association of Legal Administrators (ALA) is one of only 21 organizations nationally to receive an Award of Excellence in the first round of the 2009 Associations Advance America (AAA) Awards program, a national awards competition sponsored by the American Society of Association Executives (ASAE) & The Center for Association Leadership, Washington, D.C.
ALA was recognized for its 10th annual Community Challenge Weekend (CCW), a community service program that encourages its chapters, members, firms, vendors, relatives and friends to come together to contribute time and resources toward improving their own communities during the month of October.
The Associations Advance America Awards program recognizes associations that propel America forward— with innovative projects in education, skills training, standards-setting, business and social innovation, knowledge creation, citizenship and community service.
“ALA's program truly embodies the spirit of the Associations Advance America campaign. It is an honor and an inspiration to showcase this activity as an example of the many contributions associations are making to advance American society,” remarked Associations Advance America Committee Chair Janet C. Gibbs.
The Association of Legal Administrators (ALA), headquartered in Lincolnshire, Ill., is an international association that provides support to professionals involved in the management of law firms, corporate legal departments and government legal agencies. ALA has 10,000 members in more than 30 countries, including the United States, Puerto Rico, Canada and New Zealand.
