The 2012 Burton Awards Program was held in the Coolidge Auditorium on June 11, followed by cocktails and dinner in the Great Hall of The Library of Congress. The guest of honor included Retired Supreme Court Justice John Paul Stevens with an introduction by Justice Sonia Sotomayor. The Gala dinner featured a performance by Tony Award winner Bernadette Peters.

Katherine Jenkins, a major Welsh soprano opera, theater and classical singing star performed.
